Keith at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 17th August:

"In addition to the regular nightly slot, Showstopper! will present two special guest matinees during its Edinburgh season. Dalkeith native and Any Dream Will Do finalist Keith Jack, who starred in the musical Only the Brave at George Square last August, will perform in the first at 2.50pm on Monday 17 August."

i was gunna go untill i seen the price of a ticket and realised i didnt have any money haha

haha well i would go but i have no way of getting up there

i was lucky enough to go and see the show so here is my attempt at a review of it. It was nothing like what we are used to seeing Keith do but he said he really enjoyed it and would do it again so read on ...............

At the start there were 2 men on stage, one who provided the music throughout the show the other was the producer/director. There were a group of brilliant actors / actresses who were also involved in the show.
Keith was introduced at the beginning and asked to suggest 3 places were he wanted the show to be set. He said ''shopping mall, theatre or a jail '' the audience were then asked to applaude for the one they liked the best. The winner was the theatre.
After a prompt from the director a name was shouted out for the theatre and so the show was set in The Wonder Emporium.
The star act years ago was a man called Longshanks (played by Keith) who had a snake act, until one fateful night, the snakes escaped into the audience killing them and Longshanks himself. His assistant Angela could not face performing again. His ghost haunts the theatre.
It was now a failing theatre that was on the verge of being bought out by Starbucks and closed down. The only acts remaining were constantly drunk twin sisters who juggled budgies and a singer who smoked 40 Lambert and Butler cigaretes a day.
The smoking singer was glad that Lonshanks had died so allowing her star billing. When she was in her dressing room the ghost of Longshanks visited her, at this stage Keith had to do an improvised ballet dance across the stage, very elegant even if it was slightly heavy footed.
This was his way of telling them that he wanted his assistant, Angela, to perform his song again.
At this point the director tells Keith to go backstage to be dressed by the other members of the cast. He re-appeared wearing horns, an eye mask and carrying an open umberella, all by the way were red
Angela then performs the song but Longhanks is disappointed because the words have been changed. With his snakes by his side he then sings a duet (that Keith had to make up on the spot) with Angela, Phantom of the Opera style of course.
In the end Longshanks is happy, Angela gets star billing,the 40 a day smoker joins the twins jugling budgies and the theatre is saved.
