I belong to bookcrossing.com, a site through which people swap books, leave them on buses/benches/cafe tables etc for other people to pick up. My own books have travelled, so far, to Brazil, Finland, the US, Canada, and various places around the UK. I've received books from all over the place too. (You can join through me because I get brownie points!)

I have been looking for an obscure book about the theatre in Early Modern England (see! Obscure!) for a while, but it's out of print and the author died last year so it wasn't looking hopeful.

A man from Finland, almost a stranger to me apart from a couple of book swaps we had done, found this book on a foreign website (the sole copy they had) and BOUGHT IT for me! Just randomly bought a book and arranged for it to be shipped to someone in another country that he hardly knew!

What a lovely thing to do!!!!!!!!! I was so grateful and could hardly believe it. I also believe strongly that you receive blessings for acts you carry out with a genuine desire to do good, so I hope something wonderful happens for him for this.
