New Years Resolutions
Ok, So I am so sick of making the same handful of new years resolutions every year and not being able to keep one of them. Quit smoking, lose weight, become a vegetarian, blah blah blah...So this year I need to come up with something easy, something I can actually do so I can say I did it this year finally. Any ideas?

Re: New Years Resolutions
Do one thing a day to make yourself happier. EG sit down and do nothing for five minutes and refuse to feel bad about it!
Giving up smoking is a killer. I have given up many, many times, finally succeeding in 2004 - it's three years yesterday! I'm SOOOO glad I gave up but wish I'd never started in the first place. I miss it every single day which is suckish, as my daughter would say. Give up smoking, blev! Nicotine lozenges saved me!

Re: New Years Resolutions
I smoked for 22 years. Maybe a pack a week so not major as some people. I have tried to quit completely...I can go a whole week or even a month without one. THEN I go out for a drink and bam!! As soon as I get a drink in my hand I start t crave a cig. I feel as if I would have to quit drinking just to quit smoking and I am a social drinker as it is..I dont think a losenge would go well with beer..or that I would remember it..LOL

Re: New Years Resolutions
I can relate. The only reason I don't smoke when I'm stressed is that I made a promise to someone never to smoke another cigarette. If my relationship with that person changes, I'll smoke quicker than you can say "LOOK UP FAINTING GOATS ON YOUTUBE".
I don't drink so that's helpful. Maybe you can start by not smoking unless you go out and then allowing yourself a set number - like three or something.

Re: New Years Resolutions
My New Year's Resolutions are:
1. Not to spend money I don't have
2. To be more spontaneous
You could try writing in a diary each night? Then you could read it at the end of the year and remember everything you've done...

Re: New Years Resolutions
post-it notes. I swear by them!!! I'd never be organised without them.
my resolution, as always, is to stop biting my nails. I'm lost all hope in them actually growing though!!
I'd also like to try new things in 2008 that I've always fancied doing. Like take up a new hobby.
Do more reading for my course (hmf boring!)

Re: New Years Resolutions
im always making the same ones too...i really do want to join the gym this year though.
I joined a class last year at the top of my street, and i went for 3 weeks and then they cancelled it..i was gutted lol!
So thats one thing. Another would be to save money as im learning to drive and would like to save for a car.
