Ha .. well in Scotland when you go to the Academy you are roughly the age of 11/12 and you are 1st year (S1) .. 2nd year (S2) .. 3rd year (S3) and so on until S4 .. and you can chose to stay on to senior years of S5 & S6 .. Smile

P Stands for Primary

P1 - Age 4/5
P2 - 5/6
P3 - 6/7
P4 - 7/8

And so on until P7 - Age 10/11

S Stands for Senior

S1 - Age 11/12
S2 - 12/13
S3 - 13/14

And so on until S6 - 16/17

Then you can go on to College or Uni if you want ! ( Thats Probably Confused you more Razz

I left when I was 15............ Embarassed

It was in October.... and I was meant to leave in December anyway and because my birthday is on 2nd January Im youngest in the class, and people think I should be in the year below.... but yeah I was just a couple of months into 5th year... Smile

They've upped the school leaving age in England from 16 to 18 - from next year's new Year 7s (the 11 year olds who will be 12 in the 2009-2010 school year), so my little one won't leave school until she's 18. My big one left at 16, although she's gone on to Sixth Form - I won't allow either of them to leave until 18 anyway.

I'm going on to 6th form next year, I would not leave in June!! But my brothers' friend left when he was only just 16, he's a chef in a really really good restaurant.
